Area Agency on Aging
Mid-Carolina Senior Games, held annually in the spring, is part of a network of 53 local games that provide statewide health promotion and wellness programs for adults age 50 years of age and better. The local games provide senior residents of Cumberland County, Harnett County and Sampson County the opportunity to participate in wellness workshops, health fairs, Silver Striders Walking Clubs, Silver Arts, exercise classes and special social events throughout the year.
For the athlete there are more than 25 various sporting events and the Silver Arts offer categories in visual arts, literary arts, heritage arts and the performing arts. Medal winners qualify for the North Carolina Senior Games State Finals held each Fall in Raleigh and every two years the US Seniors Sports Classic, The Senior Olympics are held.
Volunteers are needed to assist in all categories at both the local and state Senior Games.
Staying active and involved is not only healthy it can be fun.

Mid-Carolina also gives Cheerleading Squads the opportunity to show off with the Cheerleading Showcase, which is held in conjunction with the SilverArts Live Performance.

Line Dancing Groups are also encouraged to join us in the SilverArts Live Performance.
Many volunteers are needed to set up facilities, keep score, present awards, provide medical services, register participants, give hugs, and enjoy good health and friendship. Whatever your age or specialty, you can be a vital part of the Mid-Carolina Senior Games. Many jobs fill early so volunteer soon for first choice.
